Cynthia was the first to begin her long-running career in this business by making the move into New York to pursue a modeling career. Her first contract was for five years in the company of Wihelmina Models. This led to her appearance featured on the cover of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's debut cover was among Essence's most popular covers and one of the most requested by then editor-in-chief Susan Taylor. Cynthia was awarded her second image shortly thereafter and set the scene for her lucrative career. Next, she moved on to Paris and Milan. In Milan, she appeared on the runways for Paris Fashion Week as well as Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia was highly sought-after when she returned back to New York City from living in Europe for almost a year. Her campaigns included Maybelline Oil of Olay, Macy's and Macy's.
